About Me!

Hi!  I am Pam Lorentz, and I am so excited to be a part of the 8th grade team, again, this year as an ELA 8 and English 1 Honors teacher.  I am also the ELA Department Chair.  I am a proud Clemson graduate (Go Tigers!) and have three degrees (B.S. in Accounting, B.A. in Elementary Education, and MeD in Learning Disabilities) from that "pawsome" university!  My areas of certification include:  Elementary Education, Learning Disabilities, Middle Level English Language Arts, and Reading.  This is my 32nd year of teaching, all in Lexington School District 2.  I have taught at Fulmer Middle School (1992-2005), Airport High School (2005-2014), Congaree Elementary School (2014-2017), Cayce Elementary School (2017-2018), and Northside Middle School (2018 - Present).  This school year will be my sixth year at Northside!  I love working with middle school students, and I hope to help all of my students improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

I also believe that it is important to support my students in their extracurricular activities, so I hope to be in attendance at athletic events, fine arts performances, dances, etc.  Students who know that their teachers care about them will care about doing well in school, and I want my students to know I care.

When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my family and friends, read, watch college football and basketball games, and walk.  I enjoy spending as much time as possible at the beach, especially our annual family beach trip to Garden City during the July 4th Week.  There is something about the ocean that relaxes and rejuvenates me.  I am a proud aunt of two nieces (second year law student at Campbell Law School and a senior at the University of North Carolina) and two soccer-playing nephews (junior at Lees-McRae College and a freshman at the University of North Carolina).

I look forward to a fabulous 2023-2024 school year filled with great books and great memories!
