About Me

My name is Kristy Todd and I have been teaching Orchestra at Northside Middle School for 22 years.  I'm excited to also be teaching ukulele again this year.

I began playing the violin in fifth grade and the viola during my freshmen year in college.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Music in May of 2002 and a Master of Music Education in May of 2005 both from the University of South Carolina.  I worked in conjunction with two professors at major universities on a research project to write the "Development and Validation of an Orchestra Performance Rating Scale" which was presented at the "5th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Music Education Research" on July 15, 2005.  I obtained National Board Certification in the area of Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood in Music in December of 2006 and renewed this Certification in December 2016.

When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my husband and fourteen year old daughter that does competitive dance.  We love going to Disney, doing water sports at Lake Murray, going to the mountains, and the beach.  I also run a small monogramming business.

I'm looking forward instilling a love of music that students will carry on for the rest of  their lives.
