Students at Northside Middle School will move temporarily from in-person classes to remote learning for two weeks, beginning Monday, August 30. The decision is a result of the impact of COVID-19 on students, staff and safe school operations. This decision is not tied to the number of students and staff who are positive, but the number of students and staff who are also quarantined as the district continues to adhere to quarantine procedures. The remote learning period will run Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 9; Monday, September 6, is a student holiday. Students are tentatively scheduled to resume in-person classes on campus on Friday, September 10.
During Remote Learning, students will receive live instruction through a Google Meet in ALL of their classes for at least half of the regularly scheduled time. The times for these daily virtual classes are listed below. Look under your grade level for the meeting times for each class period. There is not a meeting for Homeroom (1st Period) or Lunch.
Students should frequently visit the Google Classrooms of their teachers for access to Google Meets and important information about assignments. In order to be marked present for remote learning days, students must attempt to engage in each of their classes daily by submitting assignments and participate in Google Meets. Students without any online presence will be marked absent for that day in each class where there was no online activity. "Online presence" means participation in a Google Meet and attempts made to complete assignments.
