It's ironic that I would become an educator because I really struggled to read as a first grader. I remember telling my teacher, Mrs. Cox, not to worry if I never learned to read; that I knew it wasn't her fault. She smiled and said, "Oh, don't you worry. You WILL learn to read." She said it with such confidence that I believed it and a lifetime later I became a high school English teacher. Building a positive school culture is everything. When students know that you care, they achieve at high levels. It is my honor to serve as your principal.
