Registration is now open for all new and returning Lexington School District Two students for the 2026-2027 school year, as well as for families interested in applying for Limited School Choice to attend a school outside their regular attendance zone.

For those interested in applying for Limited School Choice, applicants must first enroll their student for the 2026-2027 academic year at the school in their regular attendance zone by clicking this link for to complete online registration. Next, School Choice applicants should then separately fill out and submit the Limited School Choice forms found here by email to studentservices@lex2.org.

The Limited School Choice application deadline is January 16, 2026. The district will notify applicants of decisions by no later than February 2026.

ABOUT LIMITED SCHOOL CHOICE

Limited School Choice tries to provide families who are residents of Lexington Two with the means to enroll their K5 -12 children in a specific school based on an identified need.  School Choice is not an option for 3K and 4K students. Applicants must have a record of good behavior and good attendance.

Students already on Limited School Choice who will be returning to the same school for the 2026-2027 academic year do not have to fill out a new application. However, those already on Limited School Choice who want to continue in the feeder school program (fifth to sixth grade, eighth to ninth grade) will need to complete a new application. 

Limited School Choice requests may only be submitted for specific circumstances listed below in priority order (Family/Student Mitigating Circumstances/Needs). The documentation listed for each priority must be provided at the time of submitting the application. No application will be considered without specific documentation.

1. Medical needs (statement signed by doctor)

2. Childcare provisions (statement signed by childcare provider)

3. Parent/Guardian work location (statement signed by employer)

4. Daycare location (statement signed by daycare provider)

5. Continuation of Limited School Choice (moving from elementary to middle, or middle to high) - New Application Required

6. Sibling placement with district-assigned program

7. Other (attach an explanation to this application)

Also worth noting:

• Applicants must first complete online student registration for 2026-2027 at the school in their regular attendance zone before submitting their School Choice application.

• Siblings of students on Limited School Choice are not eligible for automatic attendance at the school of choice unless an application has been completed and approved for the sibling.

• If applying for more than one student, use a separate application for each child.

• High school and middle school students who are approved for Limited School Choice may be limited in athletic participation for one year due to South Carolina High School League regulations.

When requesting School Choice, families must agree to:

• Transport the student by car to and from school each day (no school bus transportation);

• Ensure punctuality/daily attendance, and be accessible to the school as needed; and

• Ensure the student will maintain a good behavior record.

Limited School Choice applications are available at the Student Services Office, 3205 Platt Springs Road, and on the district website, www.lex2.org, under the Departments/Student Services menu tabs.

MOBILE REGISTRATION DATES: JANUARY-MAY

Lexington Two has a number of mobile registration events, starting in January, to help any district family who needs assistance to register their child for the 2026-2027 school year. District employees will be available to help with the process, and translators will be on site.
