WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The interim principal and assistant principal at Lexington Two’s Northside Middle School have been named to the posts permanently.
Anna Unversaw will remain as principal and Bryson Summers as assistant principal, on recommendation of Superintendent Dr. Nicolas Wade and approval of the Board of Trustees at its February 24 meeting. Both have been serving in the interim roles for the 2021-2022 school year.
"The staff and parents of Northside Middle School have communicated their appreciation for all these two have done in continuing to move the school forward while dealing with all the challenges wrought by the pandemic," said Lexington Two Superintendent Dr. Nicolas Wade. "These are two leaders who are committed to giving students opportunities, supporting these students through challenging times, and continuing to make the Northside community proud of their school."
Unversaw previously served as an assistant administrator at Northside Middle School, where she arrived in 2017. Prior to that, she was a teacher in Richland 2, Richland 1 and Sumter School District. Unversaw received bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as an M.Ed., all from the University of South Carolina.
Summers, who arrived in Lexington Two in 2012, previously served as a special education teacher at Airport High School and Fulmer Middle School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College, a master’s degree from Columbia College, and an Ed.S. from Arkansas State University.
Both will assume their permanent positions effective July 1.
